Puppy love

Dolly day dream seems to be loving school, however this week we noticed she was constantly putting her fingers in her mouth and chewing at her nails! Hubby and I could tell she was getting anxious! I gently tried to probe and after several sets of questions, I uncovered the truth.. Apparently the object of her affection! (she’s 4) has told her she did something wrong and will no longer play with her! Bless her! I tried to explain that at this age, boys aren’t often interested in girls, but alas it was a girl that he went off to play with. She asked me if she could take him a Lolly pop! (isn’t this supposed to happen much later?) I explained hat we couldn’t just take one person a Lolly pop, that it would be mean for everyone else. How would she feel, if someone gave everyone one but her.. So she said she’d slip it in his bag when no one was looking. That way the others wouldn’t be sad and he would get a treat! Seriously! One day this week he was absent, apparently the teacher wondered if she’d make it through the day! She follows him like a puppy! I’ve talked to her about making more friends and why it’s important. So relieved today when two more names were added to the mix! As the Mum of two girls I’m prepared for lots of nights with boxes of tissues, but I’m hoping I’ve got a good 10years before that!
